ADULT DOSE:

The oral suspension usually is used only for children. See Cefuroxime Axetil Tablets USP .

 

MAXIMUM ADULT DOSE:

 

PEDIATRIC DOSE:

Impetigo or Otitis media, acute-Infants and children 3 months to 12 years of age: Oral, 15 mg (base) per kg of body weight every twelve hours, up to 1000 mg per day, for ten days . Infants up to 3 months of age: Safety and efficacy have not been established . Pharyngitis or Tonsillitis-Infants and children 3 months to 12 years of age: Oral, 10 mg (base) per kg of body weight every twelve hours, up to 500 mg per day, for ten days . Infants up to 3 months of age: Safety and efficacy have not been established . 

 

MAXIMUM PEDIATRIC DOSE:

500 mg per day for pharyngitis and tonsillitis, and 1000 mg per day for impetigo and otitis media .
