ABSOLUTE CONTRAINDICATIONS :

coagulopathy

intramuscular injections

penicillin hypersensitivity

ADULT DOSE:

[Bronchitis] or Pharyngitis or Pneumonia or Skin and soft tissue infections, due to Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus pyogenes or Tonsillitis or Urinary tract infections-Oral, 250 to 500 mg every eight hours .

 

MAXIMUM ADULT DOSE:

2 grams per day; however, 4 grams per day have been administered .

 

PEDIATRIC DOSE:

[Bronchitis] or Pneumonia or Skin and soft tissue infections, due to Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus pyogenes or Urinary tract infections-Infants and children 1 month of age and older: Oral, 6.7 to 13.4 mg per kg of body weight every eight hours . Infants up to 1 month of age: Safety and efficacy have not been established . Otitis media or Pharyngitis or Tonsillitis-Infants and children 1 month of age and older: Oral, 6.7 to 13.4 mg per kg of body weight every eight hours; or 10 to 20 mg per kg of body weight every twelve hours . Infants up to 1 month of age: Safety and efficacy have not been established . 

 

MAXIMUM PEDIATRIC DOSE:

Doses of up to 60 mg per kg of body weight per day have been used. However, in older children, the maximum dose should not exceed 1.5 grams per day.

 

ELDERLY DOSE:

[Bronchitis] or Pharyngitis or Pneumonia or Skin and soft tissue infections, due to Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus pyogenes or Tonsillitis or Urinary tract infections-Oral, 250 to 500 mg every eight hours .
