ADULT DOSE:

Antiobsessional agent or
[Antidepressant]-
Oral, initially 50 mg in a single dose at bedtime .
The dosage may be increased as needed and tolerated in increments of 50 mg a day at intervals of four to seven days .
If the daily dosage exceeds 100 mg, it should be taken in two divided doses .
If the doses are not equal, the larger dose should be taken at bedtime .
Note: In patients with hepatic function impairment, initial fluvoxamine dosage should be reduced , and titration should proceed slowly ; an increased dosing interval may be considered .
Some clinicians recommend an initial dosage of 25 mg once a day in all adult patients to reduce the incidence of adverse effects . |
